About Eiland Facility Maintenance Solutions
Eiland Facility Maintenance Solutions, also known as EFMS, is a growing property maintenance, renovation, and facility services company serving apartment communities and commercial properties throughout Ohio.
Our services include apartment unit turns, carpentry, painting, drywall repair, flooring installation, carpet installation, light maintenance, cleaning, exterior repairs, and property improvement projects.
We take pride in being responsive, dependable, professional, and capable of handling multiple aspects of a project from start to finish.
Position Overview
EFMS is looking for an experienced bilingual carpenter and multi-skilled renovation technician who can perform high-quality work across several trades.
This is not a single-trade position. The ideal candidate should be strongest in carpentry but also comfortable completing painting, drywall, flooring, carpet, punch-list repairs, and general apartment renovation work.
The selected candidate will work throughout apartment communities, vacant units, occupied properties, commercial facilities, and active renovation sites. You must be able to work independently, communicate clearly with supervisors and crew members, and complete work correctly without constant supervision.
Because this position communicates regularly with both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking team members, fluency in English and Spanish is required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform rough and finish carpentry.
- Repair or install doors, trim, baseboards, framing, cabinets, shelving, hardware, and other wood components.
- Complete apartment unit turns and property renovation projects.
- Prepare surfaces and complete interior and exterior painting.
- Patch, repair, finish, and sand drywall.
- Install luxury vinyl plank, laminate, vinyl flooring, transitions, and baseboards.
- Install, stretch, repair, and replace carpet when required.
- Complete punch-list items and quality-control corrections.
- Perform light plumbing and electrical fixture replacement within the candidate’s skill level.
- Repair or replace damaged soffit, porch components, railings, and exterior building materials.
- Assist with countertops, vanities, cabinets, doors, and hardware installation.
- Review work orders and project scopes before beginning work.
- Identify additional repairs, damaged materials, or potential change-order items.
- Create accurate material and supply lists.
- Take clear before, progress, deficiency, and completion photos.
- Enter job notes, photos, and updates into Jobber or other company systems.
- Communicate project status, delays, material needs, and quality concerns to management.
- Help communicate instructions between English-speaking and Spanish-speaking crew members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Protect residents’ belongings, flooring, walls, and surrounding areas while working.
- Represent EFMS professionally when communicating with clients, property managers, residents, vendors, and team members.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- At least three years of hands-on carpentry, construction, renovation, or property maintenance experience.
- Strong working knowledge of carpentry and multiple renovation trades.
- Ability to complete assigned work independently and correctly.
- Experience installing flooring and completing interior painting.
- Experience with drywall patching, finishing, and repair.
- Experience with carpet installation or carpet repair.
- Ability to read and understand work orders, measurements, scopes, and material lists.
- Ability to accurately measure rooms, doors, trim, flooring, and building materials.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable transportation to travel between job sites.
- Reliable smartphone with the ability to take and upload photographs.
- Comfortable using mobile applications for schedules, work orders, checklists, and job documentation.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and professional.
- Ability to lift building materials, move equipment, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in vacant apartments, occupied properties, commercial buildings, and exterior environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in apartment communities or multifamily housing.
- Experience completing full apartment unit turns.
- Experience leading or helping direct a small crew.
- Experience preparing material takeoffs and supply lists.
- Experience inspecting completed work and creating punch lists.
- Experience with Jobber or similar field-service software.
- Experience with exterior carpentry, porches, soffit, railings, and building repairs.
- Experience installing cabinets, vanities, countertops, doors, and trim.
