Columbus, OH — On-Site | Full-Time | Base Salary + Uncapped Commission
InnoSource is a Columbus-based workforce solutions company that helps organizations hire better, operate smarter, and scale faster. For more than 25 years, we have delivered contract staffing, on-site outsourcing, direct sourcing, workforce consulting, and AI-enabled workforce solutions to companies across the country — from Fortune 500 enterprises to high-growth organizations, many of them clients we have served for 15 years or more. We are expanding our sales team, and this role represents an opportunity to join that effort at an early and formative stage.
The Opportunity
The Business Development Representative is InnoSource's first point of contact with prospective clients. You'll identify the right organizations, earn their attention, and open the door to a relationship that our Sales Executives carry forward. The companies you engage are managing real operational challenges — roles they can't fill, operations they need to scale, costs they need to control. Your job is to initiate that conversation.
Through disciplined daily outreach across phone, email, and LinkedIn, you'll engage HR, talent, and operations leaders at mid-market and enterprise companies, qualify them against our ideal client profile, and hand off well-briefed opportunities to our Sales Executives. You're not expected to be a service line expert on day one, but you'll learn to recognize a strong fit and position InnoSource effectively. You won't be responsible for closing deals — you'll be responsible for making them possible.
What You’ll Own
- Build and work a focused target list of companies that fit our ideal client profile, researching each before you reach out
- Execute a consistent, high-volume outreach cadence across phone, email, and LinkedIn, with personalized and relevant messaging
- Open conversations with HR, talent, and operations leaders and qualify their fit and need against our criteria
- Secure qualified meetings and provide each Sales Executive with a clear, well-briefed prospect
- Maintain accurate, current pipeline and activity records in our CRM
- Collaborate with Sales Executives and Marketing to refine messaging and improve outreach effectiveness
- Consistently meet and exceed your activity and meeting targets
How Success Is Measured
This is a metrics-driven role. Success is defined by consistent daily outreach — calls, emails, and LinkedIn engagement — that produces a steady, qualified meeting pipeline for our Sales Executives on an ongoing basis. New representatives are not expected to perform at full capacity immediately. We provide a structured onboarding ramp, proven outreach templates, prepared target lists, and ongoing coaching. We expect you to ramp efficiently and to sustain consistent performance once you do.
What You’ll Bring
- A competitive, results-oriented mindset
- Resilience and persistence in a high-volume outbound environment
- Strong verbal and written communication, with the confidence to talk to senior leaders
- Strong ownership and initiative in managing your own pipeline
- A coachable approach, with a demonstrated ability to apply feedback and improve
- A genuine interest in developing a career in sales and business development
Experience & Logistics
- Based in or able to commute to our Columbus, OH office; this is an on-site role
- A background that demonstrates the ability to manage high activity volume, handle rejection, and work toward defined goals — including sales, recruiting, retail, hospitality, fundraising, or competitive athletics
- Comfort with phone-based outreach and the ability to learn CRM tools quickly; staffing, B2B, or outbound sales experience is preferred but not required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; relevant experience and demonstrated drive are valued equally
Compensation
- Competitive base salary — we pay above the Columbus market for this role
- Uncapped commission on top of base, tied to meetings booked and pipeline created. On-target earnings reward consistent performance, with significant upside for top performers.
- Full benefits package
- The opportunity to join a commercial organization in a period of active growth and investment
