We are currently seeking a Senior Animal Laboratory Technician. This position is a full-time opportunity located in West Jefferson, Ohio.
The Senior Animal Laboratory Technician will apply technical expertise and sound judgment to complete a broad range of routine and non-routine assignments in support of project objectives. This role works under the general supervision of more experienced staff and contributes meaningfully to project execution, data analysis, and technical documentation.
In this role, the Senior Animal Laboratory Technician will also provide guidance to less experienced team members and contribute input to project planning efforts, helping ensure work is completed accurately, on time, and in alignment with client expectations.
As a Senior Animal Laboratory Technician, the selected individual will apply technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to support a variety of moderately complex project activities. Responsibilities may include:

Conducts non-routine analysis to verify the accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of project work

Trains and guides less experienced staff on specific tasks and procedures

Identifies and recommends solutions to technical problems, including estimating time requirements for task completion

Prepares and documents data for inclusion in technical reports using established reporting outlines

Provides input to Project Managers regarding time and staff resource requirements

Assists in technical planning activities, exercising discretion in completing moderately complex assignments

Reports observations and problems clearly and concisely, highlighting specific deviations from expected results

Assists in identifying opportunities to control or reduce fixed costs without negatively impacting client expectations

May have limited interaction with clients and may contribute to the preparation of reports and letters as directed by the Project Manager

Provides input to performance reviews of less experienced staff, as requested
- Associate's degree in a related field with 3 years of applicable experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field

Demonstrated ability to perform assignments that are non-standardized in nature
-
Technical knowledge sufficient to perform moderately complex assignments, including the ability to troubleshoot and interpret results

Ability to conduct non-routine data analysis and prepare findings for written technical reports
-
Ability to document results clearly using established outlines for inclusion in technical reports

Willingness to pursue relevant certifications or continuing education units as needed

Battelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $39,000 – $53,600 per year, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. Salary ranges may vary based on geographic location and market conditions.
