Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Quality Manager provides site leadership and independent oversight for product quality, laboratory operations, customer and supplier quality, and the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS). The role converts customer, regulatory, and business requirements into controlled processes; develops quality personnel; and uses risk-based decisions and data to improve conformance, reliability, cost, and customer satisfaction. The position works closely with Operations, Technical/R&D, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Sales, EHS, Product Stewardship, and the Global Quality organization.

Duties

Own the site QMS and quality strategy; establish annual objectives, plans, responsibilities, resources, and performance measures aligned with company and customer priorities.
Provide management with timely, evidence-based reporting on KPI's, quality performance, customer risk, compliance status, systemic issues, cost of poor quality, and improvement opportunities; coordinate management review inputs, actions, and follow-up.
Promote a prevention-based quality culture and ensure personnel understand their responsibility to identify, contain, communicate, and correct quality risks.
Maintain controlled policies, procedures, specifications, forms, records, training, and quality-system master data, including appropriate access, retention, traceability, change history, and data integrity controls.
Maintain conformity and certification readiness for the current applicable editions, amendments, and transition requirements of ISO 9001 and the organization's certified scope. In partnership with EHS and Operations, support integration and integrity of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems as assigned.
Ensure audit findings and system nonconformities receive timely containment, correction, root-cause analysis, corrective action, effectiveness verification, and closure.
Manages the team that approves fit-for-purpose specifications, sampling plans, inspection and test methods, control plans, acceptance criteria, certificates of analysis, traceability requirements, and quality records for raw materials, in-process material, and finished product. Oversees product release, hold, quarantine, material review, rework, deviation, concession, and disposition processes so nonconforming or suspect product is controlled and decisions are documented at the appropriate authority level.
Maintains an effective measurement and laboratory-control program covering calibration, preventive maintenance, measurement-system analysis, reference standards, method verification, proficiency or round-robin studies, out-of-specification/out-of-trend investigations, retention samples, and record integrity.
Monitor process stability and product conformance through statistical process control, capability analysis, trend review, designed experiments, and other appropriate statistical methods; communicate actionable findings to Operations and Technical teams.
Lead the customer complaint, return, warranty, and field-quality processes from initial containment through documented investigation, root cause, corrective action, customer response, effectiveness verification, and trend review.
This position directly supervises quality laboratory and Quality Control personnel as assigned and may lead cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority. The manager is expected to set priorities, establish performance and competency standards, allocate resources, develop employees, and make or meaningfully influence hiring, promotion, discipline, and termination decisions in accordance with company policy.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, industrial/manufacturing engineering, quality, or a related technical discipline. An equivalent combination of relevant education and substantial progressive experience may be considered.
At least five years of progressive quality assurance, quality engineering, laboratory, or manufacturing quality experience, including at least three years leading people, programs, or a quality function.
Demonstrated experience implementing, maintaining, and improving an ISO 9001-based QMS and managing internal and external audits in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of product and process quality planning; specifications; sampling; nonconforming material; CAPA/root-cause methods; customer and supplier quality; validation/change control; measurement-system analysis; SPC; capability; FMEA; and risk-based decision making.
Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment on product release, containment, escalation, resource priorities, and matters of material business or customer significance.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, and practical experience with ERP and quality/laboratory systems. Ability to learn and govern new digital tools and use statistical or data-visualization software effectively.
Strong written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills, including the ability to communicate technical conclusions clearly to employees, executives, customers, suppliers, auditors, and other stakeholders.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
