Full Job Description

Interventional Psychiatric Technician

Company: Metro Psychiatry: DBA as Optimum Wellness & TMS

Reports to: Optimum Wellness & TMS Director

Overview: Optimum Wellness & TMS is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Interventional Psychiatric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide patient-centered care utilizing advanced technologies in TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) therapy, Spravato therapy, and other potential interventional psychiatric treatments. You will participate in comprehensive training and certification programs to effectively administer these outpatient therapies, ensuring our patients receive the highest quality of care.

Responsibilities:

Administer and monitor TMS or Spravato treatments as prescribed by the physician.
Phone screen potential patients inquiring about our therapies to determine if a consultation should be scheduled with the Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
Create a compassionate and trusting environment to ensure the best patient experience.
Document each session accurately using the electronic medical records system.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
Establish appropriate boundaries with patients.
Administer psychiatric rating scales as needed.
Identify and address medical symptoms and patient comfort issues throughout the treatment process.
Follow all office and manufacturer procedures to ensure compliance and safety.
Initiate, obtain, and follow up on insurance prior authorizations.
Communicate effectively with patients and staff to enhance care coordination.
Collect, track, and maintain patient history while recording any new data.
Take vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, height, and weight, when necessary.
Provide emotional support to patients and their families, actively listening to their concerns and feedback.
Report updates and seek assistance from clinic staff in cases of unusual or drastic changes in patient behavior or symptoms.
Ensure the cleanliness and sterility of treatment rooms to maintain a safe environment.
Adhere to state and federal mandated standards and procedures.
Regularly inventory and restock supplies, notifying the Practice Director of any low stock.
Ensure the lobby is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.
Assemble and organize all necessary forms and folders for end-of-treatment and consultations.
Perform other duties as assigned

Skills:

Successful completion of TMS, HIPAA, CPR, and AED training (training will be provided if needed).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong teamwork abilities and collaboration skills.
Highest ethical standards and professionalism in all interactions.
Detail-oriented and self-driven, with a commitment to quality care.

Physical Abilities:

This position requires occasional unassisted lifting and carrying of items up to 15 pounds.
Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements are involved.
The role includes standing, walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
You will have frequent contact with patients, staff, and the community in a fast-paced office environment.
A valid driver’s license is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Some college education and/or experience in a healthcare-related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Apple-related software.
Certifiable in TMS, HIPAA, CPR, and AED.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Current CPR certification.
Experience in psychiatric patient care.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
