Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and driven Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. This role is ideal for a hands-on kitchen leader who thrives in a high-volume, fine dining environment and is committed to exceptional food quality, operational excellence, team development, and consistency.

The Executive Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee all back-of-house operations, lead and mentor kitchen staff, maintain high culinary standards, and ensure a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in leading all back-of-house operations in a high-volume, upscale dining environment
Hire, train, coach, and develop kitchen team members while maintaining accountability and performance standards
Ensure consistent execution of food quality, presentation, recipes, and portion standards
Maintain all sanitation, food safety, and HACCP procedures
Oversee daily line checks, prep execution, inventory, ordering, and product rotation
Monitor food and labor costs while maximizing operational efficiency
Ensure compliance with all health department regulations and company standards
Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety throughout all kitchen areas
Support scheduling, purchasing, and overall kitchen management responsibilities
Lead by example with professionalism, urgency, and a strong work ethic

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of current kitchen management experience in a high-volume or fine dining restaurant
Strong leadership and team development skills
Experience with standardized recipes, systems, and operational controls
Knowledge of food costing, inventory, and purchasing procedures
Culinary degree preferred, but not required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Passion for hospitality and culinary excellence
