Job Purpose:

The Personal Care Assistant is responsible for performing personal care and homemaker services based on a nurse’s assessment of the client’s needs. This position is also responsible for providing respite and private duty care, ensuring client comfort, dignity, and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist clients with personal hygiene according to the client care plan, including providing partial or complete baths in a variety of locations.
Promote client independence and maintain client modesty during personal care activities.
Provide homemaker services as required to support the client's daily living needs.
Deliver respite care to provide relief to primary caregivers.
Offer private duty care with a focus on personalized attention and support.
Utilize proper body mechanics to lift, transfer, and move clients safely.
Exercise mature judgment in all client interactions and care decisions.

Required Education:

Required Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of in-home experience, either in private duty or in a facility setting
Completion of 60-hour training or possession of a state-tested nursing license

Required Skills and Abilities:

Ability to assist clients with personal hygiene in accordance with the client care plan, ensuring client independence and modesty
Proficiency in giving partial or complete baths in various locations in an organized manner
Capability to lift, transfer, and move clients safely
Ability to lift 30 pounds using proper body mechanics
Competence in using mature judgment in various situations
