Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing expert pharmaceutical care, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to patient safety and treatment outcomes within a dynamic hospital environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical pharmacy experience, including specialized knowledge in critical care, trauma, pediatrics, and oncology settings. A strong commitment to patient service, medication management, and interdisciplinary collaboration is essential for success in this position.

Duties

Dispense prescription medications accurately while verifying dosage, interactions, and contraindications using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients and healthcare providers to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
Monitor patient responses to medications, adjusting therapy as needed in collaboration with medical teams.
Ensure pharmaceutical regulatory compliance by adhering to drug regulation standards and hospital policies.
Prepare and compound sterile and non-sterile medications, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques.
Conduct patient assessments related to medication therapy, pain management, oncology treatments, and critical care needs.
Precept pharmacy residents and students, fostering professional development and clinical expertise.
Maintain detailed documentation of medication administration, patient interactions, and clinical interventions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across hospital departments such as ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), ER (Emergency Room), and trauma centers.
Stay current with pharmacology advancements, drug regulation updates, and hospital pharmacy protocols.

Skills

Extensive clinical pharmacy experience with a focus on hospital medicine, ICU care, trauma centers (Level I & II), pediatrics, and oncology.
Proficiency in pharmacy information systems (PIS) and EMR/EHR platforms.
Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapeutics, physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and drug regulation standards.
Experience with IV compounding, aseptic techniques, acute pain management, and medication administration protocols.
Demonstrated ability in patient assessment, medication therapy management, and emergency response situations.
Familiarity with managed care principles and hospital pharmacy operations.
Excellent communication skills for effective patient service delivery and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Post-residency practice experience preferred; certifications in critical care or specialized pharmacotherapy are advantageous.
