Job Opportunity: Youth Development Director

Organization: Community Development for All People (CD4AP)

Reports To: Executive Director

The Vision

We are looking for a passionate Youth Development Director to lead our after-school and summer programming, including our CDF Freedom Schools® initiatives. You will be the architect behind environments where young people feel seen, supported, and empowered to dream big. If you are a strategic leader who believes in social justice, youth voice, and community-driven impact, we want to meet you.

What You’ll Do

Design & Innovate: Lead the creation of strengths-based, youth-centered programs that foster academic success and personal growth. You’ll use data and community feedback to keep our offerings relevant and impactful.
Lead & Empower: Recruit, mentor, and supervise a diverse team of staff and volunteers. You’ll foster an inclusive culture that values continuous learning, innovation, and accountability.
Deepen Connections: Build authentic, trust-based relationships with families, schools, and local stakeholders. You’ll ensure our programming is culturally responsive and actively engages families as partners in their children’s success.
Drive Sustainability: Secure our future by identifying funding opportunities, writing grants, managing program budgets, and cultivating relationships with donors and partners.
Champion Equity: Lead with empathy and integrity. You will ensure our organizational practices, policies, and program environments are trauma-informed, inclusive, and equitable.

Who You Are

Experienced: You have 3–5 years of leadership experience in youth development, education, or nonprofit management, with a track record of achieving positive outcomes.
Strategic & Operational: You balance "big picture" strategy with the ability to manage budgets, grant compliance, and day-to-day logistics.
A Collaborative Leader: You excel at coaching teams and building strong, collaborative partnerships across diverse groups.
A Lifelong Learner: You value professional development—both for yourself and your team—and are eager to participate in learning groups like Partnership4Success or The Columbus Foundation’s Community of Practice.
Educated: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. (A Master’s degree is a plus.)

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with youth development frameworks (e.g., PYD, SEL).
Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are a significant asset.
