Full Job Description

TalentLogistiX is seeking experienced Fiber Optic Splicers to support one of the nation's largest hyperscale data center construction projects in New Albany, OH. This role is responsible for installing, splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting fiber optic infrastructure across both Outside Plant (OSP) and Data Center environments. Candidates will work on critical network infrastructure while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in fusion splicing, OTDR/OLTS testing, live fiber maintenance, and fiber troubleshooting, and is comfortable working in fast-paced construction environments while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

Location: New Albany, OH

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Days or Nights Available)

Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM or 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Per Diem:

Monday–Friday: $40 per day worked
Saturday & Sunday: $75 per day worked

Hourly Range: $25.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience

Hotel accommodations and flights are provided for qualified traveling candidates.

Outside Plant (OSP) Responsibilities

Perform precision fusion splicing on single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cable.
Install, splice, terminate, and test underground, aerial, and duct fiber optic cable.
Pull fiber through conduit, innerduct, handholes, vaults, and underground pathways.
Read and interpret splice diagrams, fiber schematics, construction prints, and network documentation.
Perform OTDR and OLTS testing to verify splice quality and troubleshoot fiber issues.
Identify, locate, and repair damaged fiber.
Support fiber restoration efforts and emergency maintenance as required.
Maintain accurate splice records and testing documentation.

Data Center Responsibilities

Splice and terminate fiber optic cable within hyperscale data center environments.
Perform live fiber maintenance during scheduled maintenance windows with minimal service disruption.
Install and dress fiber within cabinets, ladder racks, basket trays, and cable management systems.
Install and secure fiber hardware, patch panels, cassettes, and enclosures.
Test and certify newly installed fiber using OTDR, OLTS, and power meter/light source equipment.
Troubleshoot active fiber circuits and resolve connectivity issues.
Generate detailed test reports using FastReporter or similar reporting software.
Work alongside low voltage, structured cabling, and commissioning teams to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of Fiber Optic Splicing experience
Minimum 3 years of Fusion Splicing experience
Minimum 3 years using OTDR and OLTS testing equipment
Experience working in hyperscale data centers (Meta, Google, AWS, Microsoft, etc.) - Preferred
Experience with Outside Plant (OSP) construction - Preferred
Experience troubleshooting both dark and active fiber networks
Ability to read splice matrices, fiber schematics, and construction drawings
Experience pulling, routing, and dressing fiber optic cable
Strong understanding of fiber optic installation best practices
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and maintenance windows as needed
