Maintenance Technician I Wanted!

Salary range is $26.00-$28.00 per hour, based on experience, with an excellent personal time off policy and 401(k) and Profit-Sharing!

About the Job

GFS Chemicals is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join our Shared Services Division at our McKinley Avenue location. The Maintenance Technician I performs a variety of maintenance duties to reduce equipment down time, help with equipment installations, maintain building facilities, and grounds upkeep. The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing preventative maintenance tasks and assisting higher-level technicians. This role is ideal for individuals starting their careers in maintenance, offering hands-on training and exposure to a variety of systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance (e.g., lubricating machinery, replacing filters, changing light bulbs)
Assist in basic repairs of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems under direct supervision
Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, facilities, and company grounds
Document maintenance activities and report issues to supervisors
Follow safety protocols and company procedures

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate, Bachelor's Degree, or maintenance certification program, preferred
1 to 2 years of maintenance experience or relevant training preferred

Core Skills:

Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools
Good communication and teamwork skills
