About The Role:
The Sr Field Superintendent is a crucial role focused onensuring the successful planning, design, and implementation of Outside Plantinfrastructure for data center construction projects across a designatedregion. This individual will leverage deep technical expertise in OSP construction,including fiber optic and copper cabling, conduit installation, and associatedequipment, to provide guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.The Sr Superintendent will play a pivotal role in reviewing project plans, assessingmeans and methods for construction, participating in the procurement and bidprocess for resources and equipment, and providing critical coaching andmentorship to project teams. This role involves overseeing multiple projects,ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery while maintaining safety and qualitystandards.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in OSPconstruction, especially in fiber network deployment and data centerinfrastructure, and the ability to manage complex projects, foster team growth,and communicate effectively. This position will work in close collaborationwith onsite project managers, supervisors and foreman to coordinate technicianwork force planning, resource dissemination and coordination, general oversightof field operations while providing technical direction to technicians,maintenance of safety standards, productivity, schedule, ensuring compliancewith quality standards, and having a strong understanding of the unioncontract.
What You’ll Do:
Review of scope of works, assist in the development of howto execute implementation phases of OSP infrastructure for data centerprojects, including fiber and copper cable plants, connections, conduits, andsupporting infrastructure.
Review engineering, design implementation plans and projectdrawings, Scope of work to ensure alignment with industry standards and projectrequirements to meet project goals.
Perform regular quality checks throughout the constructionprocess to guarantee adherence to specifications and quality standards
Provide expert advice and guidance on troubleshooting andresolving complex OSP construction issues and challenges.
Develop and implement the best practices for OSPconstruction.
Develop, Analyze and evaluate proposed OSP construction toensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with safety regulationsand environmental standards.
Define and recommend optimal installation techniques,considering factors like terrain, environmental conditions, and budgetconstraints.
Ensure proper installation and protection of critical OSPcomponents, buried underground infrastructure, placement of sub-ducting andinstallation of fiber optic cabling.
Participate in the bid process for OSP constructionprojects, assisting in the evaluation of proposals and resource allocation.
Provide expert recommendations on the selection ofresources, equipment, and materials based on quality, cost, and adherence toindustry standards.
Coach and mentor OSP field crews, Supervisors, Foreman,technicians, and project site teams on best practices, technical skills, andindustry knowledge.
Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and support toenhance team performance and foster professional development.
Conduct regular site visits based on project proximity,maintaining awareness of the full project scope. Communicate work order changesto the PM and assist in managing project close-out activities (testing,as-builts).
Lead workshops and presentations to share expertise andfacilitate knowledge transfer within the organization.
Ensure all OSP construction activities comply with relevantlocal, state, and federal regulations, including environmental, safety, andbuilding codes.
Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures tomaintain a secure work environment for all personnel.
Oversee inspections, audits, and site reviews to ensurecompliance with regulatory and security agencies.

10 plus years related experience or equivalent role
Strong Means and Methods understanding
OHSA 30 certification
Must meet Motor Vehicle Record requirements.
Excellent communication skills.
Must meet all requirements to be properly badged and able to meet all client requirements to access the jobsite.
Familiar with construction management software as needed.
Proficiency with Microsoft office
Proficient in understanding building plans and specifications
Team player with field supervision, project management and company administration
Good understanding of building systems.
Thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standards is essential.
Ability to plan and organize a team effort.
Good client management and goodwill building ability.
Capacity to motivate, lead and boost morale of the teams.

OH Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Sr Field Superintendent position is $110,000 and the maximum salary for the position is $130,000. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
