Are you ready to make a major impact on your patients lives, daily? We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Staff Pharmacist to join our amazing team at Charitable Pharmacy of Central Ohio. In this important and meaningful role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care through accurate medication dispensing, comprehensive patient assessments, and effective medication management. Your expertise will ensure compliance with all pharmaceutical regulations while fostering a compassionate environment that prioritizes patient safety and service excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead pharmacy operations, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and make a meaningful difference in patients' lives every day.

Role Responsibilities:

Delivers extraordinary direct patient care helping neighbors in need access prescription
medications with appropriate follow-up, counseling, and education
Performs efficient and accurate drug utilization review, manages the medication use system of the pharmacy on a daily basis.
Documents patient visits in electronic health record and completes medication therapy management opportunities.
Partners with patients and their providers to navigate formularies and design optimal therapeutic regimens within the available inventories.
Maximizes inventory management, and priorities utilization of donated medications.
Oversees engagement, training, and appreciation of volunteers at the site including volunteer pharmacists, technicians, and students.
Precepts student pharmacists preparing for career in community-pharmacy practice.
Contributes to the Continuing Quality Improvement program for the pharmacy
Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to all state and federal pharmacy laws, including USP 797 standards for sterile compounding.
Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapies, considering physiology, anatomy, and medical history.
Manage pharmacy operations efficiently, including inventory management, drug regulation compliance, and pharmacy software systems.
Provide expert patient service by offering medication counseling, immunizations, and health education tailored to diverse populations including pediatrics and long-term care (LTC) residents.
Oversee pharmacy team members such as pharmacy technicians, ensuring adherence to clinical confidentiality policies, HIPAA regulations, and practicing as a responsible healthcare professional.
Collaborate with healthcare providers on medical management plans, pain management strategies, and acute care interventions involving IV infusion and aseptic techniques.
Ensure pharmacy operations meet healthcare compliance standards by maintaining accurate documentation of drug administration, inventory control, and regulatory audits.

Qualifications

Valid state pharmacist license with current practicing credentials.
Demonstrated experience in clinical pharmacy settings including hospital or acute care environments.
Critical care experience preferred; additional expertise in pediatrics, pain management, or immunizations is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, drug regulation policies, and medical terminology.
Proven ability to manage pharmacy teams effectively while maintaining high standards of customer service and patient care.
Proficiency with pharmacy software systems such as EMR (Electronic Medical Records), PIS (Pharmacy Information Systems), and EHR platforms.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in sterile compounding or IV insertion are advantageous.
Excellent communication skills for client interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration within healthcare settings.
Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines, clinical confidentiality policies, USP 797 standards for aseptic technique, and pharmacy laws at the state and federal levels.
