Certified Personal Trainer (Independent Contractor)

Location: Lionheart Fitness – Italian Village, Columbus, OH

Position Type:

Independent Contractor

Ideal candidates already have clients or are actively building their own book of business.

Compensation: Commission-based (60% for 1-24 training hours, 65% for 25+ training hours per week) Trainers are hired on as 1099s and are paid weekly

Lionheart Fitness is a private strength training studio in Italian Village looking for a certified personal trainer to join our team as an independent contractor.

This role is best for a motivated trainer who wants the freedom to build their own schedule, grow their own clientele, and train in a serious, supportive gym environment without the big box gym feel.

Ideal candidates already have clients or are actively building their own book of business. We are looking for someone who is personable, reliable, self motivated, and confident working with clients one on one and in small group settings.

What We’re Looking For:

Certified personal trainer, NASM, ACE, ISSA, NCSF, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent
Experience coaching clients safely and effectively
Strong communication and people skills
Comfortable networking, marketing yourself, and building client relationships
Professional, dependable, and self motivated
Passion for strength training, injury prevention, and helping clients move better

Responsibilities:

Coach one on one and small group personal training sessions
Create safe, effective programs based on each client’s goals, ability, and training history
Perform basic fitness assessments and track client progress
Provide clear coaching, proper exercise technique, and appropriate modifications
Maintain a clean, professional training space
Communicate professionally with clients and the Lionheart team
Represent the gym with a high standard of service and professionalism
