Wildlife Specialist – Property Inspection & Sales
About the Job
Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control is a growing, locally operated service business looking for a Wildlife Specialist to inspect properties and sell humane wildlife removal and exclusion services to homeowners, businesses, and property or condo associations that have requested our help.
This is a field-based role with a company vehicle, paid training, and real opportunity to earn more through performance. You’ll work independently, travel throughout the Columbus metro area, and encounter a wide variety of properties and situations.
You do not need prior sales experience to be successful in this role. The right person has a great personality, communicates well with homeowners, cares about the welfare of animals, and understands that customers are often worried about their home, property, and safety.
Our job is to inspect thoroughly, quote the work correctly the first time, and help customers understand the value of doing the job the right way. We are not the cheapest option, and we do not try to be. Our humane methodology, professional standards, and lifetime guarantee on serviced areas are a major part of why we do what we do — and why we charge what we charge.
If you enjoy being out in the field, talking to people, solving problems, and earning more based on results — not sitting behind a desk — this role may be a great fit.
Compensation
Starting pay is $18.00 per hour.
In addition to hourly pay, this role includes a sales incentive:
- 0.5% sales incentive during the first 90 days
- 1% sales incentive after successful completion of the first 90 days
- The incentive applies during sales training as well, including the period when you are observing and learning our inspection process, product offering, customer service expectations, and level of professionalism required
The first 90 days are a probationary training period. During this time, we evaluate reliability, professionalism, safety, customer interaction, ability to learn our process, and overall fit for the role.
Realistic annual earnings are expected to be approximately $35,000–$70,000+, depending on hours worked, sales performance, business volume, and the ability to consistently meet sales expectations.
This role has a minimum sales expectation of approximately $3,500 per day once trained and operating independently. Earnings above the hourly base are tied to performance, and strong performance creates the opportunity for higher total compensation.
These are realistic values, not inflated numbers used just to attract applicants.
Paid training is provided.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will represent Skedaddle professionally and respectfully at all times — behind the wheel, on job sites, and while interacting with customers. This role is about helping customers understand the value of humane wildlife removal and exclusion services through integrity, transparency, and trust.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting scheduled property inspections at residential and commercial properties
- Inspecting attics, roofs, decks, siding, vents, and exterior structures
- Safely setting and using ladders as needed to inspect attics, rooflines, and exterior areas
- Identifying wildlife entry points and areas vulnerable to future intrusion
- Explaining inspection findings clearly to homeowners, business representatives, and property managers
- Creating and presenting accurate service recommendations
- Quoting work correctly the first time based on the property, wildlife activity, and exclusion needs
- Helping customers understand the value of humane removal, professional exclusion, and long-term prevention
- Selling services in a professional, consultative way
- Working toward a minimum sales expectation of approximately $3,500 per day once trained
- Coordinating with leadership and service teams to ensure smooth execution
- Performing light lead-generation activities, such as follow-ups and door hangers
- Maintaining a clean, safe company vehicle and equipment
- Following safety procedures and company standards
Most days involve 1–6 inspections and travel throughout the Columbus metro area.
No roof walking is required.
What We’re Looking For
This role is a good fit if you:
- Have a great personality and communicate well with customers
- Care about the welfare of animals
- Understand that homeowners may be stressed, concerned, or protective of their property
- Are comfortable speaking with homeowners, business owners, and property managers
- Can explain inspection findings clearly and professionally
- Can help customers understand value, not just price
- Don’t mind climbing ladders, entering attics, or working outdoors
- Are reliable, professional, and self-directed
- Want to grow your earnings by performing well
- Take pride in doing the job the right way
- Can balance customer service, safety, and sales expectations
Experience That Is Helpful, But Not Required
An advantage, but not required:

Prior sales experience is not required. We train the right person. A strong work ethic, professional communication, sound judgment, and the ability to build trust with customers are more important than having a sales background.
