Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Contract Radiology Technologist to join our dynamic medical imaging team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive expertise in various diagnostic imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, and sonography. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care in a fast-paced environment, supporting urgent care, emergency room, and trauma center operations. The Contract Radiology Technologist will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic procedures with precision and adherence to safety protocols, ensuring accurate results for clinical evaluation.
Duties
- Operate and maintain advanced imaging equipment such as X-ray, CT scanners, PET scanners, mammography units, DEXA scanners, and ultrasound devices with strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety standards.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining processes clearly and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination.
- Accurately position patients to obtain optimal images that support diagnostic radiology and evaluation of various conditions.
- Collaborate closely with radiologists and medical staff to facilitate diagnostic assessments in emergency room settings and Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Ensure all imaging procedures comply with established protocols, including physiology knowledge and anatomy understanding for precise image acquisition.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed, patient information, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Assist in the calibration and troubleshooting of imaging equipment to ensure operational efficiency and image quality.
- Uphold infection control standards by practicing proper aseptic techniques during invasive or sterile procedures such as nuclear medicine or mammography.
- Support the department’s workflow by managing scheduling priorities for urgent care cases requiring immediate diagnostic evaluation.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Radiology Technologist with proficiency in diagnostic radiology modalities including X-ray, CT, PET scan, mammography, DEXA scan, sonography, Cath Lab/IR and nuclear medicine techniques.
- Prior experience working in emergency rooms or Level I/Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Familiarity with emergency medicine procedures and the ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure situations.
- Experience operating advanced imaging technology within urgent care or hospital environments that require rapid response capabilities.
- Certification or licensure as a Radiologic Technologist from an accredited program is required; additional specialization in nuclear medicine or mammography is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control practices essential for safe patient care in diverse clinical settings.
