Full Job Description

OUR OFFICE:

The Office of the Chapter 13 Trustee is a professional office consisting of 25-plus employees, located in Uptown Columbus. The office has been serving the Chapter 13 bankruptcy community for over 30-years, with the goal of delivering the best-possible service to all parties involved in Chapter 13 cases.

We strongly believe in showing respect for everyone we come into contact with, while providing outstanding service, every day. We are dedcated to our work, with employee tenure averaging over 22-years.

We are a technology-driven enterprise, relying heavily on computer software applications to deliver our services. Equipment and software are continually updated to meet changing needs.

THE POSITION:

We’re looking for a candidate with strong office, clerical, telephone, and organizational skills. The preferred Transaction Clerk candidate will have proven experience in all of these areas. Duties will include:

Reviewing and resolving stale-dated checks.
Preparing a transaction sheet for voiding and issuing manual/computer checks.
Monitoring payment posting workflow.
Verifying and posting receipts.
Balancing daily transactions with the computer.
Transferring funds between bank accounts.
Maintaining spreadsheets for confirmed and unconfirmed account transactions.
Resolving NSF and other bank debit/credit transactions.
Maintaining the integrity of daily and monthly journals.
Preparing monthly unidentified/creditor refund account reconciliations.
Other duties as assigned.

This position requires attention to detail, analysis and organizational skills, typing and 10-key proficiency. Prior legal and clerical experience is prefered. Continuous interaction with co-workers and the public, both on the phone and in-person is required. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a flexible schedule option available after a minimum length of service requirement.

THE LOCATION:

We are located in Uptown Columbus, close to the Chattahoochee River, and all of the nearby restaurants, shops and entertainment activities that are available in the area.
