Full Job Description

Employment Solutions is partnering with a growing consumer products company to find a Product Development Formulator to join their team. If you have a chemistry background and a couple of years of formulation experience under your belt, this is a chance to take real ownership of product development at a company whose product range is expanding fast.

You'll work closely with the leadership team to develop, test, and refine new formulations, keep products compliant, and help bring new ideas from the lab to the shelf.

It's hands-on, varied, and a great fit for someone who loves solving problems, staying organized, and seeing their work turn into finished products.

Responsibilities:

Research, develop, and test new chemical formulations and substrates, including coordinating external testing
Run day-to-day development tasks: testing product, reviewing lab results, and resolving test exceptions, quarantines, and re-testing needs
Partner with labs and internal staff to troubleshoot formulation and quality issues
Manage aspects of EPA product registration, maintenance, and filings, and help address new and existing regulatory requirements
Liaise with management and design on packaging changes
Track market and legislative changes that could impact the product line
Develop and document product development processes, including early-stage ISO-type program preparation
Support occasional cost-saving initiatives
Coordinate cross-functionally with Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Quality to support smooth handoffs
Flag risks and bottlenecks early and drive them to resolution

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field, with a strong chemistry foundation preferred
1-3 years of formulation experience in CPG, ingredient, chemical, or consumer product development preferred
Working knowledge of chemistry fundamentals and comfort reading and interpreting SDS sheets
Hands-on lab or chemical mixing experience
Familiarity with regulatory processes (EPA, FSC, or similar) a plus; microbiology exposure a plus
Ability to read and interpret legislation and regulatory guidance
Strong attention to detail and process management skills
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills
Proficiency with project management tools (ClickUp a plus) and Excel
