Full Job Description

Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) – Night Shift

Location: Columbus, OH
Weekly Gross: $2100 - $2280/week for 40 hrs weekly.
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (Potential Extension)
Shift: Night Shift | 40 Hours per Week
Schedule varies between:

Five 8-hour shifts (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Two 8-hour shifts (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and Two 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) when covering weekends

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) travel assignment at a leading Level I Trauma academic medical center in Columbus, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have strong post-anesthesia recovery experience, critical thinking skills, and the ability to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures
Manage post-operative pain and administer prescribed medications
Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize/manage dysrhythmias
Provide care for patients receiving various types of anesthesia, including general, local, MAC, spinal, and nerve blocks
Manage ventilated patients and monitor respiratory status
Administer IV medications, blood products, and vasopressors as required
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary care teams
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
Follow PACU protocols, safety standards, and hospital policies

Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 2 years of RN experience
PACU experience required
BLS Certification
ACLS Certification
NIHSS Certification
Experience with telemetry and ventilated patients
Experience with electronic medical records/charting systems

20-bed PACU
Adult and Geriatric Patient Population
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
Self-Scheduling Available
Weekend and Holiday Coverage Required
Orientation Provided
