Position Summary:
The Cut & Wrap Operations Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading the daily operations of the Cut & Wrap Department to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely production of retail cheese products. This position oversees department employees, production scheduling, labor allocation, and packaging operations while ensuring customer orders are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety and quality standards. The Coordinator works closely with Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, Shipping, and Quality Assurance to maximize productivity, improve operational efficiency, and support the continued growth of the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate daily Cut & Wrap operations to meet production schedules and customer demand.
- Schedule department employees and assign work to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Monitor employee performance, provide coaching and training, and promote a safe, positive work environment.
- Coordinate daily production schedules based on customer orders, inventory availability, and shipping priorities.
- Operate and oversee cutting, wrapping, weighing, labeling, metal detection, packaging, and palletizing processes.
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, SQF, food safety, quality, and workplace safety requirements.
- Monitor production performance, labor efficiency, downtime, yield, and waste, implementing improvements where needed.
- Coordinate with Maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure equipment readiness.
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required data entry and production reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, product quality, and overall department performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education in manufacturing, business, or food science preferred.
- Two or more years of manufacturing or food production experience, preferably in food processing or packaging preferred.
- Previous experience leading or coordinating production teams preferred.
- Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and food safety principles.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills and experience with production data entry.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:
Manufacturing and food production environment with exposure to refrigerated areas, production equipment, moving machinery, cleaning chemicals, and moderate to high noise levels. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required to meet production demands.
Pay: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour
