Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, medical procedures, and clinical support, with experience across various medical settings including dermatology, hospital medicine, and urgent care. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient services in a fast-paced environment, ensuring efficient clinic operations and compassionate care delivery. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

Perform patient intake procedures, including recording vital signs and updating medical histories accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support during patient visits.
Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining organized documentation in electronic health records (EHR/EMR).
Conduct basic diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging and assist with outpatient and inpatient care in various specialties including internal medicine and geriatrics.
Ensure proper medication handling, including inventory management, pharmacology knowledge, and adherence to safety protocols.
Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring a comfortable experience for all patients.
Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment by following infection control protocols and sanitation standards.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, Level I/II trauma centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or surgical units to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

Valid Medical Assistant certification or LVN license with current state licensure.
Proven experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics; inpatient experience is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and pharmacology principles.
Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) and EMR management tools for documentation and data entry.
Skilled in performing phlebotomy, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging.
Familiarity with hospital environments including Level I/II trauma centers or specialized units like PICU or OR is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear instructions and compassionate patient care across diverse populations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced settings such as emergency medicine or medical-surgical units while maintaining attention to detail.
