Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dietary Manager, where you will lead and oversee all aspects of the dietary department to ensure the delivery of exceptional nutritional care. This role is vital in promoting health, safety, and well-being through expertly managed food service operations, compliance with health regulations, and compassionate patient-centered care. As a key leader, you will coordinate with clinical teams to develop tailored care plans, supervise food production, and manage food service teams to create a welcoming, safe, and nutritious environment for residents or patients. Your energetic leadership will drive continuous improvement and uphold the highest standards in dietary management.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily food service operations, ensuring timely and accurate meal preparation aligned with individual care plans and dietary restrictions.
Manage food safety protocols in accordance with health regulation policies and ensure compliance with all relevant health codes.
Lead and motivate food service teams by providing supervision, training, and performance feedback to foster a collaborative work environment.
Conduct patient assessments related to nutrition needs, including specialized procedures such as tube feeding and diagnostic evaluations.
Develop, implement, and monitor care plans that incorporate clinical nutrition principles tailored to diverse patient populations.
Oversee budget management for the dietary department, including purchasing, inventory control, and cost-effective food production practices.
Utilize electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems to document nutritional assessments, care plans, and progress notes accurately.
Coordinate with healthcare professionals on complex cases involving acute care needs or specialized diets requiring detailed management.
Ensure all food service activities adhere to food safety management standards and regulatory requirements.
Lead efforts in food service health code compliance while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Proven experience in assisted living facilities or similar healthcare environments with a strong background in dietary department management.
Extensive knowledge of physiology, clinical nutrition, dietetics, and care planning for diverse patient needs.
Demonstrated supervisory experience managing food service teams within a healthcare or institutional setting.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records related to nutrition and care plans.
Strong understanding of health regulation policies related to food safety management and health code compliance.
Experience with budget management, food production processes, and managing large-scale food services efficiently.
Excellent leadership skills combined with effective team management capabilities to motivate staff and improve departmental performance.
Ability to perform patient assessments including tube feeding protocols and diagnostic evaluations confidently.
Knowledge of acute care practices relevant to nutritional support in complex medical situations.
