Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Lathe Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) lathes to produce precision-machined components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise will help drive efficiency and excellence in our fabrication processes, ensuring that each part is manufactured with accuracy and consistency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technology within a fast-paced, safety-focused environment dedicated to manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities

Set up CNC lathe machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and programming parameters based on detailed blueprints and technical specifications.
Operate CNC lathes to produce high-precision parts, adhering to production schedules and quality standards.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files to ensure accurate machining processes.
Program CNC lathes using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and modify programs as needed for different jobs.
Perform routine inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Conduct preventative maintenance on CNC equipment, troubleshoot issues promptly, and ensure machines operate at peak performance.
Maintain a clean and organized work area while complying with safety protocols including forklift operation when handling materials or finished parts.
Collaborate with team members on assembly line tasks, fabrication projects, or materials handling to optimize workflow efficiency.

Skills

Proficiency in CNC programming and operation of CNC lathe machines; familiarity with Fanuc controls is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings for precise manufacturing.
Experience with CAM programming software for toolpath generation and process optimization.
Knowledge of other manufacturing equipment such as press brake machines, stamping presses, welding tools, and fabrication machinery.
Ability to use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments accurately.
Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining dimensions and tolerances.
Familiarity with materials handling equipment like forklifts; factory experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred.
Understanding of quality control standards and procedures within a manufacturing environment.
Mechanical aptitude combined with solid problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues efficiently.
