Position Overview:
Sutter Care at Home has been serving Northern Californians for over 115 years, beginning after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. The Division Vice President, Chief Executive Officer, Sutter Care at Home provides executive administrative leadership and strategic direction for all operations and business entities of Sutter Care at Home (SCAH), including Hospice, Home Health, Infusion, Durable Medical Equipment (DME), and Sutter Senior Care (PACE). Accountable for delivering high quality, safe, patient centered care across home based, hospice, and senior care settings, while achieving operational excellence, strong financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and a world class employee experience.
Exercises full authority and accountability for the administration, performance, sustainability, and growth of SCAH and PACE service lines, ensuring alignment with Sutter Health’s mission, values, and enterprise strategy. Responsible for integrating interdisciplinary care delivery models that support complex, high risk, and aging populations, with emphasis on care coordination, access, quality outcomes, and total cost of care.
Serves as the senior administrative liaison between SCAH, Sutter Senior Care (PACE), Sutter Health system leadership, Boards, labor partners, clinical leaders, home based care providers, acute care partners, community based organizations, and external stakeholders. Expected to build and sustain strong relationships with acute care entities both within and outside of Sutter Health to improve care transitions from inpatient to home based settings, reduce avoidable utilization, and advance population health strategies.
Leads the organization across a combined workforce of management represented and union represented employees, proactively supporting positive labor relations through leadership visibility, engagement, credibility, disciplined workforce practices, and consistent contract administration. Promotes a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement to ensure outstanding outcomes for patients, families, employees, clinical teams, and the communities served.
Job Description:

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or a related field required.

Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred.
Experience:
-
Significant senior‑level healthcare leadership experience in home health, hospice, PACE, ambulatory, or community‑based settings.

Demonstrated success in operational execution, financial management, strategic planning, and business development.

Executive‑level experience in a complex, matrixed healthcare system strongly preferred.

Proven ability to deliver excellence in access, affordability, quality, and patient experience.

Strong experience engaging employees, clinical staff, Boards, and community partners.

Demonstrated ability to lead effectively across management‑represented and union‑represented employee populations and support positive labor relations.

Experience applying Lean or continuous improvement methods in home‑based or ambulatory care models.

Experience leading growth initiatives, integrations, and care model transformation.

Deep knowledge of home‑based healthcare operations, financial management, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, risk management, and human resources.

Strong understanding of healthcare industry trends affecting home health, hospice, PACE, reimbursement, and workforce dynamics.

Pay Range is $432,000.00 to $720,000.00 / annual salary
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
