About the Position
Cabarrus Country Club is seeking an experienced, energetic, and service-focused Events Manager to join our Food & Beverage team.
The Events Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of events, independently managing all aspects of an event from initial concept and planning through onsite execution and post-event follow-up.
Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Manager, this position is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of Club-hosted and private events. The Events Manager serves as the primary liaison between members, guests, vendors, and internal departments, ensuring every event reflects the Club’s standards, brand, financial goals, and commitment to an exceptional member experience.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a highly organized hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys creating memorable experiences, and is willing to roll up their sleeves to ensure events are executed flawlessly.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
- Protect and enhance the Cabarrus Country Club member experience while ensuring an exceptional event experience for hosting members and their guests.
- Develop contracts and oversee the administrative and operational aspects of private events, banquets, catered parties, weddings, meetings, luncheons, dances, and other social functions.
- Meet with members and clients to understand event goals, gather necessary information, and coordinate event details.
- Partner with the Executive Chef to establish menus, pricing, and other event specifications.
- Ensure banquet menus remain current and aligned with member interests and expectations.
- Develop and maintain detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Lead weekly BEO meetings and communicate event details to all affected departments and staff.
- Coordinate food and beverage requirements, room layouts, diagrams, housekeeping needs, entertainment, décor, and other special requests.
- Inspect event spaces and finished setups to ensure they meet Club standards and contractual expectations.
- Compare BEOs to actual room setups and make adjustments as needed.
- Oversee events from preparation through completion, including greeting and serving guests when appropriate.
- Provide hands-on service and event leadership when necessary.
- Coordinate staffing and assist with supervision of service personnel for special functions.
- Serve as Manager-on-Duty when needed.
- Walk through and critique completed events to identify opportunities for improvement.
Member & Client Experience
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Club members, guests, prospective clients, vendors, and internal team members.
- Provide professional, responsive, and personalized service throughout the event-planning process.
- Address and resolve member and guest concerns with professionalism, discretion, and urgency.
- Maintain accurate records of past, current, and prospective clients.
- Conduct follow-up calls and meetings to assess ongoing member and catering needs.
- Act as an advocate for superior member and guest service.
Financial & Administrative Management
- Assist with catering budgets and monitor financial performance.
- Review financial reports and take appropriate corrective action to help achieve budget objectives.
- Manage event billing and coordinate prompt payment for completed events.
- Maintain the Club’s master event calendar and function book.
- Update weekly function information for all affected staff and departments.
- Attend staff and management meetings to review policies, procedures, upcoming business, and service standards.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Food & Beverage team, Executive Chef, and other department managers.
- Coordinate the food and beverage components of staff-organized special events.
- Work with internal partners and external vendors to arrange décor, entertainment, rentals, and other event-related needs.
- Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication before, during, and after events.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in hospitality, catering, event planning, or a related environment with responsibility for planning and executing sophisticated events.
- Previous experience with a private club or hotel catering/events team strongly preferred.
- Experience planning and managing weddings, social events, and other complex functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of the logistics involved in planning and executing complex events.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept through completion, on time and within budget, with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and attention to detail.
- Strong telephone, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and internet-based applications.
- Experience with Jonas software is a plus.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the event calendar.
- Must remain on-site through the conclusion of events unless appropriate supervision has been arranged.

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Stoop, bend, lift, and carry up to 20 pounds, including cases of water, beverages, coolers, and event supplies.
- Move furniture and assist with setting up and breaking down tables and chairs.
- Work on stairs and uneven surfaces, particularly during outdoor events.
- Operate Club vehicles and equipment, including Gators and open-air golf carts.
