The State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services, and New Hampshire Hospital have a Full-Time vacancy for a Building Environmental Services Supervisor II.
Summary:
To plan, coordinate, and supervise the work activities of grounds, cleaning, maintenance and supervisory personnel assigned to New Hampshire Hospital. To manage related administrative functions to ensure efficiencies, quality, and adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

Responsibilities :
DETAILED TASKS (STANDARD): None
DETAILED TASKS (AGENCY/POSITION-SPECIFIC) :
- Prioritizes building work orders and tasks and forecasts necessary staffing levels to facilitate adequate coverage. Schedules and assigns work and crews and readjusts staffing as necessary; relies on team leads or supervisors for personnel input/assistance.
- Hires, trains, evaluates, counsels, and disciplines employees; addresses work-related problems, including escalated issues and complaints. Reviews and implements current and updated environmental, safety, and health protocols. Escalates more complex security or health/safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Coordinates additional relevant building or facilities services with appropriate personnel or contractors to include painting, repair work, renovations, trades work, replacement of furnishings, equipment maintenance, grounds keeping, contracted commercial cleaning services, and replacement of environmental health or safety mechanisms.
- Coordinates and manages the ordering of supplies, tools, and equipment, and analyzes data used for purchasing and budgeting purposes. Works with appropriate personnel to ensure buildings/facilities are well stocked and equipped.
- Inspects and spot-checks the cleaning, upkeep, and maintenance activities at all assigned state buildings, facilities, and grounds. Implements updated industry standards and protocols and conducts training as necessary. Investigates quality, service or equipment issues and takes corrective actions.
- Instructs staff in work policies and procedures and the use and maintenance of equipment. When necessary, performs cleaning, repair, maintenance and crew-related tasks for buildings, facilities, or grounds and mentors team leads in advanced methods.

Participates in the formulation of the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives for the Department. Carries out same by acting as an agent of the Department within the hospital. Supports the organizational mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives as demonstrated by a positive leadership presence in unit based, departmental, hospital wide, or in public meetings/committees.
