Job Summary: This position is responsible for developing marketable products that reflect our company philosophy. Supervise and process the product through all editorial stages. Oversee freelance editorial staff and the daily implementation of complex projects. Assist in the planning, development, and production of Products.
Work Location: This is a work-from-home role.
Compensation Information: Annual salary range of $72K-$85K with a defined annual incentive plan.
What you’ll do:
- Read and evaluate all manuscript.
- Hire and supervise authors, editors, designers, and/or developers.
- Monitor content of written material to ensure accuracy, consistency with specifications and adherence to relevant state guidelines/market trends.
- Hire and supervise freelance artists and photographers, as needed.
- Oversee the development of art/photo specs.
- Set up photography sessions and supervise models and photographers, as needed.
- Coordinate the development of other printed materials.
- Oversee testing of activities and review new and existing materials during editorial processes, as needed.
- Maintains safe and healthful working conditions within stewardship by ensuring all associates comply with company safety policies and procedures.
What we expect you to bring to the table:
- Substantial editing experience including significant interaction with authors.
- Excellent writing and editing skills; sensitivity to language.
- Interest in teaching and education in general, or experience in teaching on the elementary level.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word including online editing.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, and graphs).
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Five to seven years educational publishing experience
Education and/or Certifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree (BA) in science from four-year college or university.
