Overview:
The FGP (Foster Grandparent Program) Program Coordinator will assist the Foster Grandparent Program Manager in grant delivery and fulfillment by supervising existing volunteers who mentor students within schools and childcares in their assigned area. Program Coordinators support classroom volunteers and recruit and train new volunteers in their assigned region. The Program Coordinator builds and maintains relationships with host sites, including schools, Head Starts, nonprofit childcare centers and other youth service programs. Adhering to Federal grant requirements and compliance with extensive guidelines is an important part of this role. Ability to quickly adapt to software systems and proficiency with MS Office is a requirement for this position.
This role is primarily remote, with work conducted online and regular travel throughout Southern NH and the Seacoast, with occasional in-person meetings at the Concord office.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Manage classroom volunteers and site assignments (schools, Head Starts, nonprofit childcare centers and other youth service programs) within an assigned territory.
· Recruit and train new classroom volunteers in the assigned areas.
· Develop new volunteer sites and classroom volunteer placements.
· Develop and conduct bimonthly trainings for volunteers.
· Assisting with planning of yearly program events.
· Consistently adhere to fiscal and programmatic requirements.
· Demonstrate flexibility in role by accepting other duties as assigned.
· Ensure timely processing of classroom volunteer timesheets
· Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory to conduct volunteer site visits, applicant onboarding, and in-person trainings.
· Promote program at tabling events and with local community partners.
Qualifications and Experience:
Associate’s Degree plus experience in non-profits, older adult services, human services, counseling, education, social work or related field preferred.
Experience and/or ability to work effectively with older adults and be sensitive to their issues and concerns.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must have strong experience in MS Office and comfortable learning new software programs.
Ability to initiate phone calls, set up meetings with new people and maintain positive relationships, including school principals, teachers and office staff.
Ability to travel frequently throughout assigned territory to visit sites and promote the program.
Strong sense of initiative.
