Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to join our team. This position plays an important role in our accounting department and is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable process in a high-volume environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounts payable and accounting experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a large volume of transactions while maintaining a high level of accuracy. We are looking for someone who is dependable, takes ownership of their work, communicates well with others, and can keep processes organized and moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day accounts payable functions and ensure invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time
Manage a high-volume accounts payable environment for a company with $100M+ in annual volume
Review invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy and proper approval
Maintain accurate vendor and financial records
Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues
Reconcile accounts and ensure transactions are properly recorded
Communicate professionally with vendors, employees, branch locations, and management
Maintain organized and accurate AP documentation and records
Assist with documenting and improving accounts payable procedures and processes
Use spreadsheets, accounting software, and internal systems to manage and track financial information
Help ensure accounts payable practices follow company policies and established accounting procedures
Provide additional accounting support as needed

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum of 5 years of accounts payable experience
Management experience preferred
Strong understanding of accounts payable, basic bookkeeping, and accounting principles
Experience working in a high-volume accounting environment
Proven ability to accurately calculate, post, reconcile, and manage financial records
Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to document procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience working with accounting or proprietary software systems
Strong data-entry and numerical skills
Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Dependable, professional, and comfortable taking ownership of responsibilities
Ability to work well independently while also being a team player
