Pay Range: $30–$42 per hour, depending on experience, licensing, and skill set Premium pay considered for licensed electricians or plumbers with industrial experience

Job Summary
The Industrial Plant Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment used in the manufacturing, storage, and handling of liquid asphalt emulsion products. This role blends plant operations with industrial maintenance, making it ideal for candidates with electrical or plumbing backgrounds who enjoy diagnosing problems, keeping systems running, and working with process equipment.
You’ll work closely with Quality Control to ensure product consistency, assist the Plant Foreman with inventory and materials, and support safe, efficient daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor industrial plant systems and batch processes
- Troubleshoot and repair:
- Electrical systems, motors, controls, and panels
- Pumps, heaters, tanks, piping, and valves
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Assist with plant maintenance, repairs, and improvements
- Work with Quality Control to verify product quality
- Maintain safety procedures and required documentation
- Communicate with truck drivers, dispatch, road crews, and plant staff
- Support inventory tracking and and communicate to assist with material ordering
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on mechanical or technical experience in an industrial or construction setting
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic repairs
- Comfort working with pumps, motors, pressure systems, and fluid transfer
- Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors and around industrial equipment
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Experience (Highly Valued)
- Licensed or Journeyman Electrician and/or Plumber
- Experience with:
- Industrial or commercial electrical systems
- Control panels, wiring, motors, VFDs, and instrumentation
- Industrial plumbing, piping systems, valves, and pumps
- Maintenance technician, millwright, or plant operations background
- Experience in asphalt, oil, chemical, or batch-processing facilities
- OSHA or industrial safety certifications
