Ocean Surveys is looking for an individual with a marine geophysical background to join our survey company. Duties of this position will include the field acquisition and subsequent processing, analysis, and interpretation of a variety of remote sensing data sets through and including technical report writing. Work will include a mix of field and office assignments. Candidate should have minimum BS degree in geology/geophysics (Master’s degree a plus) and varied field experience acquiring subbottom profiling, side scan sonar, hydrographic and magnetometer data.
Position will be based out of Old Saybrook, CT with domestic travel as an integral part of the job (30-50%). Which is defined as off-site operations along the Eastern seaboard, Gulf of Mexico, and Great Lakes (with potential for other locations) for a week to several weeks at a time.
Respondents must have strong computer background and familiarity with GIS based programs and data processing software (ACAD, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, HYPACK, SonarWiz, MagPick, Caris, etc.).
