Do you know and love libraries and are you a self-described people person? Do you want to help the Stratford Library reach all of the citizens of Stratford so they can learn, create and share? The Stratford Library is seeking a creative, energetic, and community-minded Head of Marketing & Communications. This full-time position is responsible for developing and implementing marketing campaigns, creating engaging print and digital content, helping with in-person programming, promoting Library programs and services, working with our community partners, overseeing meeting room rentals and art exhibits, and assisting with programming and special events. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with experience in marketing, graphic design, public outreach (digital and in-person), and programming for patrons of all ages. We are looking for proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva, and apassion for connecting people with library resources. This visible position serves on the Library's Administration Team and includes occasional evening and weekend Supervisor-on-Duty responsibilities. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, or a related field is required, nonprofit experience is appreciated.

Salary: $55,000–$65,000, with excellent benefits and working environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
· Ability to work independently, prioritize projects, meet deadlines and produce quality results with accuracy and an attention to detail and accuracy
· Self-motivation, initiative, flexibility and independent judgement
· Effective written and oral communicator
· Experience creating marketing materials and performing community outreach
· Working proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel and with creative design tools, including but not limited to Adobe products and Canva.
· Understanding of public libraries and their role in the community
· Strong networking skills and the ability to collaborate and interact courteously and professionally with all Stratford Library stakeholders
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s Degree or combination of education and related experience
· Marketing and Communications experience; non-profit experience appreciated

PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Six (6) months
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT UTILIZED:
· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as program schedules dictate.
· Ability to operate office equipment including PC, Fax, telephones and copy machines.
· Demonstrated ability to use and learn online resources and tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Standard library work environment; noise level is usually low to moderate.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
