Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Front of House Manager to lead our hospitality team and ensure an exceptional guest experience. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and uphold the highest standards of service, food safety, and cleanliness. Your leadership will foster a welcoming atmosphere where both guests and team members feel valued and motivated. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your management skills in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment dedicated to culinary excellence and hospitality.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise front-of-house staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management to ensure smooth daily operations.
Oversee customer service delivery, ensuring guests receive prompt, friendly, and professional attention at all times.
Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and transaction accuracy.
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure food preparation standards are met while maintaining food safety protocols.
Control inventory levels for front-of-house supplies, monitor stock rotation, and assist with ordering when necessary.
Handle shift management duties including opening, closing, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
Conduct staff interviews, onboarding, ongoing training & development to build a cohesive team aligned with company standards.

Skills

Proven experience in food service management with a strong background in quick service & fast food restaurant environments or casual dining settings.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage diverse hospitality teams effectively.
Proficiency in POS systems such as Toast POS; strong cash handling skills required.
Knowledge of food safety management practices and food handling procedures across various dining formats including fine dining, casual dining, catering, or banquet settings.
Strong organizational skills in inventory control, budgeting, profit & loss analysis, and food production oversight.
Excellent communication skills for managerial communication, staff training, interviewing candidates, and customer interactions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high standards of hospitality service.
Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and financial reporting; experience with managing hospitality teams is preferred.

What systems have you used for liquor, beer, food, and supply inventory? How do you control waste, overpouring, theft, and unnecessary purchasing?
What experience do you have reviewing a restaurant P&L and managing food cost, beverage cost, labor cost, and operating expenses? Please explain how you have corrected costs that were over budget.
A restaurant is experiencing declining sales, inconsistent service, and low staff morale. What would your priorities be during your first 30 days?
This is a hands-on management position that may require bartending, helping in the kitchen, training employees, handling guest complaints, working nights and weekends, and assisting wherever needed. Are you comfortable with these expectations? Please explain.
