Full Job Description

Are you a fast, skilled maker who can build, mold, cast, and finish a prop by hand—and get it right the first time? Can you turn a rough part into a durable, believable piece that survives thousands of players?

Escapology builds immersive escape rooms that thousands of players step into every week. We’re a fast-moving production workshop, and we need more skilled hands on the floor—a Fabrication Specialist who builds, molds, casts, assembles, and finishes the props, puzzle pieces, clues, and set elements that bring our adventures to life. This is hands-on work first: you’ll take pieces from rough to finished, accurately and on schedule, in a well-equipped shop.

You’ll have our 3D printers and print center to draw on when a build calls for it—but this role is about what you can do with your hands and tools, not time spent at a keyboard. If you like building real things fast, finishing them clean, and keeping a busy shop moving, you’ll fit right in.

Your Role on the Production Floor

Build and Fabricate by Hand: Construct, assemble, and fabricate props, puzzle pieces, clues, and set elements from a wide range of materials—working with hand and power tools to build durable, believable pieces fast and accurately, right the first time.
Mold and Cast: Create molds and cast resin and other materials to produce durable, repeatable pieces—consistent from the first pull to the last.
Finish It Right: Sand, prep, assemble, and finish each piece so it meets our standards for quality, durability, and appearance—built to last through thousands of player interactions.
Print When a Build Needs It: Run our 3D printers (filament and resin), plotters, and inkjet systems to produce parts as builds require, then clean up and hand-finish those prints—printing supports your builds, it isn’t the whole job.
Keep the Line Moving: Work alongside our carpenters, painters, and tech team to solve build challenges and hit deadlines. Manage your time, prioritize throughput, and help keep the shop clean, safe, and organized.
Grow With Production: As production needs shift, cross-train and step into broader workshop tasks—supporting projects, assisting across teams, and contributing wherever your skills add the most value.
Sitewide Responsibilities: Take part in company-wide initiatives, projects, and operational duties that keep the facility running at its best, supporting other departments as the needs of the business dictate.

What You Bring

We’re looking for a skilled maker with strong hands, solid fundamentals, and a bias for getting things built—fast and accurately.

Required Foundations

2+ years of hands-on fabrication, prop-making, or maker experience, preferably in a production or shop environment.
Strong hands-on skills across materials—molding, casting, assembly, and finishing—with confident use of hand and power tools.
Craftsmanship and finishing skills with the accuracy to hit dimensions and specs the first time, so pieces don’t come back for rework.
Comfortable operating 3D printers (filament and resin) and multimedia printers (plotter and inkjet) to support your builds—full digital-design expertise is not required.
Ability to troubleshoot across materials, tools, and machines to keep your work moving.
A proven ability to deliver high-quality work at production speed—balancing precise craftsmanship with deadlines, build schedules, and consistent daily output.

Bonus Points If You Have

Proficiency with Fusion 360, Blender, or Adobe Creative Suite for prepping and optimizing files.
Experience building hand props, themed environments, or other immersive pieces.
A maker’s mentality—curious and resourceful, quick to try new methods and dial in a better, faster process.
Direct experience fabricating for escape rooms, theme parks, immersive entertainment venues, or other high-volume production environments.
