Full Job Description

J. C. Steele and Sons Inc. the global leader in stiff extrusion machinery and solutions for customers in heavy clay, iron & steel, ferro alloys, and gypsum/wallboard - since 1889.

Wage Range Maximum (not including seniority pay which is awarded at 5/10/15 yr benchmarks): $29.81/hr.

Purpose of Job:

Setup and operate CNC Vertical Turning Center (Lathe) in a production environment.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities and Job Requirements:

Must have 3+ years of vertical lathe experience.
· Must be familiar with Fanac Controls.
· Must be able to accomplish a variety of set-ups. Machine has a 1600mm (63”) chuck.
· Must have experience with multi-axis machines.
· Must be familiar with feeds/speeds to maximize accuracy, efficiency, and quality.
· Must understand cutting tools and application to the turning process.
· Must be able to correct, modify and develop CNC programs for a variety of machining functions.
· Must be familiar with fixturing applications.
· Must have the ability to use technical measuring equipment such as calipers, mic, scales, etc.
· Must understand blueprints and shop orders and other technical documents.
· Must have ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
· Ensures work area, machine, tooling, and parts are cleaned regularly and free from excess oil deposits; maintains a clean work area around assigned machines.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs,
Constantly required to use hands to fingers, handle or feel and talk or hear.
Position requires long periods of standing.
Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
