Position Summary
TasQuantum LLC is seeking an experienced CAM Programmer / Machine Operator responsible for creating, simulating, and optimizing CNC toolpaths using Fusion 360 CAM software while also setting up and operating CNC machinery to manufacture precision components. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong machining knowledge, programming experience, and a commitment to producing high-quality work efficiently and safely.
Key ResponsibilitiesCNC Programming
- Develop, test, and optimize CNC programs (G-code) using Fusion 360 CAD/CAM software.
- Create toolpaths for 2–4 axis CNC mills and lathes.
- Simulate machining operations and verify program accuracy before production.
- Edit and troubleshoot CNC programs as needed to improve performance and efficiency.
Machine Setup & Operation
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
- Load raw materials, install tooling, and prepare machines for production runs.
- Read and interpret CAD models, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
Tooling & Process Optimization
- Select cutting tools, workholding, feeds, and speeds appropriate for various materials and operations.
- Optimize cycle times and machining strategies to improve productivity and reduce tooling costs.
- Recommend process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Quality Control & Inspection
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment.
- Ensure parts meet engineering specifications and GD&T requirements.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve machining, tooling, or programming issues.
- Assist with routine machine maintenance and upkeep.
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
Documentation
- Create and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, and revision-controlled CNC programs.
- Document process improvements and production notes as needed.
Qualifications & SkillsRequired Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of CAD/CAM programming experience.
- Experience programming with Fusion 360 CAM software.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of G-code programming and editing.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Solid understanding of GD&T and machining tolerances.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes.
- Knowledge of tooling, workholding, feeds/speeds, and material properties.

Education
- High school diploma or GED required with above experience .
- Technical certification or degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field preferred.
