Full Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily field operations involving semi-trucks transporting crude oil throughout Texas and surrounding states. This role supports drivers, customers, and internal personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant hauling operations while maintaining high safety and performance standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily Responsibilities:

Conduct driver inspections for PPE, equipment, ticketing, and loading/unloading procedures
Inspect trucks and trailers for safety and regulatory compliance; shut down equipment or drivers if necessary
Complete inspections using systems such as iAuditor
Monitor loading/unloading operations, ticketing systems, ELD devices, and camera systems
Communicate with drivers, owner-operators, customers, and internal personnel via phone, text, and email
Deliver parts, supplies, and equipment to drivers in the field as needed
Perform minor equipment repairs or coordinate repairs with field mechanics or shop personnel

Weekly Responsibilities:

Coordinate driver transportation, including pickups and drop-offs
Move and stage equipment as required
Assist with driver onboarding and ongoing training
Transport drivers for required drug and alcohol testing
Inspect new equipment and leases
Conduct bi-weekly safety (tailgate) meetings
Meet with new drivers on their first day to audit and approve for hauling operations
Work one night shift per week to engage with PM drivers
Respond to field incidents and emergencies as needed
Complete driver write-ups and maintain proper documentation

Monthly Responsibilities:

Inspect all drivers and equipment at least once per month
Ensure all driver and equipment documentation is completed and submitted on time
Operate a truck to haul oil in emergency situations when required

General Duties:

Monitor driver performance and compliance with company policies
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT requirements
Conduct safety audits, meetings, and incident investigations
Maintain accurate operational records
Train, mentor, and evaluate drivers on safe driving and crude oil handling procedures
Enforce company safety policies and promote a strong safety culture

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required
CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements required
Minimum 3 years of crude oil hauling, tanker operations, or oilfield logistics experience
Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational systems (e.g., ELDs, inspection software)
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

WORKING CONDITIONS

Combination of field and administrative work, with the majority of time spent at oilfield locations, yards, and customer sites
Frequent travel throughout Texas and surrounding states
On call 24/7 unless on scheduled days off
Work schedules may include nights, weekends, and extended hours
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, and rain
Exposure to industrial hazards including heavy equipment, moving vehicles, and H2S gas (training provided)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and work on and under trucks and trailers
Ability to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions
Must maintain situational awareness and adhere to safety protocols at all times

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
