About Rosaleana’s Community Development Center Inc.

Rosaleana’s Community Development Center Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides residential and community-based services to adults with behavioral challenges and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Our mission is to support individuals in living safe, dignified, and meaningful lives through person-centered care, life skills development, and community integration.

Position Summary

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides daily care, supervision, and support to adults with behavioral challenges and intellectual/developmental disabilities in a residential setting. DSPs play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, dignity, and rights of individuals served while following all care plans, policies, and compliance requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Provide direct care, supervision, and support to individuals in a residential environment
Maintain the health, safety, dignity, and rights of all individuals served at all times
Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and compliance requirements, including Medicaid, CARF, HIPAA, and state regulations
Accurately complete daily documentation, shift notes, and incident reports in a timely manner
Implement individualized service plans, behavior support plans, and care plans as assigned
Use approved de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies when behaviors escalate
Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, mobility, and daily routines
Administer or assist with medications according to training, certification, and organizational policy (if applicable)
Report incidents, injuries, medication errors, and safety concerns immediately per protocol
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, families, and interdisciplinary staff
Participate in required trainings, meetings, audits, and supervision
Maintain professional boundaries and protect confidentiality at all times
Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established emergency procedures
Support a positive, structured, and respectful environment
Perform other related duties as assigned to meet program needs

Minimum Qualifications

Required

Must be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma or GED required
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Ability to pass state and federal background checks, drug screening, and Medicaid compliance requirements
Ability to follow policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards (HIPAA)
Reliable transportation and ability to report to work as scheduled
Willingness to complete required trainings and continuing education
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Proficient in basic computer use and electronic documentation
Highly organized and attentive to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced residential environment
Physically able to perform job duties, including standing, walking, assisting individuals, and de-escalation
Experience in Behavioral Health
Understand of CARF accreditation
Worked with DBHDD

Preferred

Minimum 1 year of experience working with adults with behavioral challenges, intellectual/developmental disabilities, or mental health needs
CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Experience with behavior support plans and crisis intervention

Other Requirements

Ability to work 40–60 hours per week, including some weekends and holidays
Preferably 25 years of age or older (if applicable per internal policy)
