Shamrock Group is an established Minneapolis-based distribution, manufacturing, and service organization with more than 80 years of history. We provide beverage distribution, refrigeration and beverage equipment services, ice production, and logistics solutions to customers throughout the region.
While Shamrock has a long and successful history, the company is now under new ownership and entering an exciting period of transformation and rapid growth. Our current environment operates much like a startup: fast-moving, entrepreneurial, hands-on, and focused on building scalable systems and processes for the future.
We are seeking an experienced Controller who is excited by the opportunity to build, improve, and take ownership of a growing multi-entity financial operation.
Position Summary
The Controller will be responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of Shamrock Group’s accounting and financial reporting functions. This is currently a stand-alone position reporting directly to the CFO, with no junior accounting support.
The successful candidate must be comfortable independently managing both strategic and hands-on accounting responsibilities with limited direction. This role requires someone who can operate at a high level while also completing detailed accounting work, building reports from the ground up, improving systems, and establishing processes that support continued growth.
The Controller will work closely with the CFO and other leaders to support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, acquisitions, business integrations, and strategic decision-making across multiple legal entities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who enjoys building structure in a high-growth environment and wants the ability to grow alongside the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the general ledger and day-to-day accounting operations across multiple legal entities.
- Independently manage the monthly and annual financial close processes, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, consolidations, and other accounting adjustments.

- Partner with the CFO to develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, long-term financial plans, and performance targets.
- Prepare detailed budget-to-actual and forecast variance analyses.
- Support cash-flow forecasting, working-capital management, and strategic financial planning.
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate business opportunities, investments, acquisitions, and operational initiatives.
- Support mergers and acquisitions, including financial analysis, due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition accounting.
- Lead the financial integration of acquired companies into Shamrock’s accounting, ERP, reporting, and internal-control processes.
- Work within Acumatica and other internal ERP systems to maintain accurate financial information and improve reporting capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to improve ERP utilization, accounting workflows, financial reporting, and data integrity.
