Full Job Description

Director of Clinical Services
Akron, Ohio | $100,000 to $120,000 per year

A hospice provider serving the Akron, Ohio area is seeking an experienced clinical leader to direct and oversee its hospice clinical operations. This role leads the delivery of direct and indirect patient care services, supports and develops clinical supervisors and field clinicians, and ensures the organization consistently delivers compliant, high quality, patient centered hospice care. The ideal candidate is an RN leader who understands both the clinical and operational sides of hospice.

Schedule
Full time. Specific hours and on call expectations to be confirmed with the employer.

Compensation
$100,000 to $120,000 per year, based on experience.

What You'll Do
The Director of Clinical Services will provide overall direction for clinical operations across the Akron market, balancing patient care quality, staffing, regulatory compliance, team development, productivity, and organizational performance. This person will supervise and develop clinical and administrative personnel, ensuring clinical documentation, quality improvement, and accreditation standards are consistently met in line with Medicare hospice regulations. The role also involves oversight of staffing, productivity, and census management, along with close collaboration with clinicians, physicians, operations leadership, referral partners, patients, and families. This leader will establish accountability while maintaining a supportive, collaborative culture across the clinical team.

Required Qualifications

Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Ohio
Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program
Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop clinical and administrative personnel
Working knowledge of Medicare hospice regulations, clinical documentation, quality improvement, and accreditation standards
Understanding of hospice operations, staffing, productivity, census management, and interdisciplinary care
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem solving skills
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and appropriate automobile insurance

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced nursing or healthcare leadership education (MSN or related graduate degree)
Hospice leadership or management experience
Prior experience as a Director of Clinical Services, Director of Nursing, Patient Care Manager, Clinical Manager, or comparable hospice clinical leader
Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) certification
