Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in food production to ensure timely meal service
- Follow recipes precisely to maintain consistency and quality across all dishes
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, ovens, poachers, braising pans, and food prep stations
- Maintain cleanliness by adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures and proper dishwashing protocols
- Support menu planning efforts by preparing components for daily specials or special events
- Assist with food handling and portioning to meet dietary guidelines and customer specifications
- Ensure compliance with food safety management standards and proper food handling practices at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or catering environments preferred but not required; dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal assembly
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume production settings while maintaining attention to detail
- Understanding of food safety protocols, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling practices
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards serving customers and supporting colleagues
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
