Build the Next Generation of Transmission Infrastructure
Brooksource is partnering with a leading Upper Midwest utility to hire a Project Engineer supporting a multi-year portfolio of transmission substation construction and grid modernization projects.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in the development of large-scale transmission infrastructure supporting renewable energy integration, system capacity expansion, digital substation technology, grid automation, and long-term reliability improvements across a five-state region.
The organization is investing heavily in new transmission and substation infrastructure, including greenfield developments, major interconnection projects, modernization initiatives, and future-ready grid technologies supporting voltage classes ranging from 69kV to 345kV, with regional transmission expansion efforts reaching 765kV interconnections.
If you're someone who understands how substations are actually built, not just designed, this is a chance to apply that expertise on some of the largest utility capital projects in the region.
Why Pursue This Role?
Work On Projects That Shape The Future Grid
Support the construction and delivery of major transmission infrastructure that enables renewable generation, increases regional capacity, improves system reliability, and supports growing energy demand.
Support $100M+ Capital Programs
Join a team executing large-scale utility investments where your field expertise directly influences schedule performance, construction quality, safety, and project success.
Greenfield Construction Pipeline
Unlike many utility roles focused on maintenance or system upgrades, this team is primarily supporting new substation construction and greenfield development projects expected to remain active for the next several years.
Stay Connected To The Field
This is not a traditional desk-based engineering position.
You'll spend time in the field reviewing construction progress, supporting contractors, resolving issues, validating materials, and ensuring projects are ready for safe execution.
Become A Critical Voice In Project Delivery
You will serve as the bridge between engineering, project management, construction management, commissioning teams, and field crews to ensure projects are delivered successfully from design through energization.
