Lab Chemist (Chemistry)

Job Type: 1 Year Contract
Work Environment: Analytical laboratory and manufacturing environment
Experience Level: 1+ year of relevant laboratory experience
Schedule: 1st Shift
Work Location: Cordova, IL
Pay Rate: $22/hr - $25/hr

We are seeking a detail-oriented Analytical Laboratory Specialist to support analytical laboratory operations, equipment commissioning, test method development, and continuous improvement activities. This contract opportunity is ideal for a laboratory professional with hands-on analytical experience who can work collaboratively with equipment vendors and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Develop proficiency in the operation and functionality of analytical laboratory equipment.
Collaborate with equipment vendors to support instrument installation, commissioning, verification, and readiness for routine use.
Create, update, and refine analytical test methods in accordance with established laboratory standards.
Maintain accurate documentation related to equipment commissioning, testing, and laboratory activities.
Support GMP compliance and follow established laboratory procedures and quality requirements.
Lead assigned analytical laboratory projects supporting operational and continuous improvement objectives.
Coordinate project activities, track deliverables, and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders.
Identify and support opportunities to improve laboratory processes, methods, and equipment performance.

Qualifications

Minimum of one year of experience in an analytical laboratory, manufacturing laboratory, or related regulated environment.
Experience operating analytical laboratory equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document laboratory activities.
Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience commissioning laboratory equipment, including setup, verification, documentation, and readiness for routine use.
Experience developing, validating, or refining analytical test methods with a focus on accuracy and repeatability.
Familiarity with GMP requirements and laboratory compliance practices.
Experience leading laboratory projects from planning through completion.
Ability to coordinate with equipment vendors and internal stakeholders.
Experience identifying and implementing laboratory process improvements.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
