WVNET is seeking a strategic, collaborative leader to serve as the WVROCKS Program Director. WVROCKS is a statewide initiative advancing online learning, institutional collaboration, and student success across West Virginia’s higher education community.
Reporting to the WVNET Executive Director, the Program Director provides leadership and oversight for program strategy, governance, partnerships, fiscal management, and operations. This role offers the opportunity to shape statewide initiatives, build meaningful institutional partnerships, and lead innovation in online education.
What You’ll Do
As the WVROCKS Program Director you will:
- Lead WVROCKS strategic planning, governance, policy development, and program growth.
- Guide innovation and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen online learning and student success.
- Oversee budgets, resource allocation, program performance, compliance, and quality assurance.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with participating institutions, WVNET, and WVHEPC Academic Affairs.
- Represent WVROCKS in statewide meetings, committees, conferences, and collaborative initiatives.
- Use data and stakeholder feedback to evaluate outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare recommendations and reports for organizational and statewide leadership.
- Supervise the WVROCKS Program Manager, Instructional Designers, and other assigned staff.
- Ensure effective program operations, service delivery, and stakeholder support.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, Information Technology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in higher education administration, program management, organizational leadership, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- – Strategic planning and program development
- – Budget administration and resource management
- – Stakeholder engagement and partnership building
- – Supervising and leading professional staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Experience supporting statewide higher education initiatives, educational consortia, online learning programs, or multi-institution partnerships.

Salary Range: $70,000–$85,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience with a full benefits package, including:

Work Environment
- Candidates must reside within commuting distance to WVNET offices in Morgantown, WV.
- Periodic in-state travel is required for institutional visits, meetings, conferences, and statewide initiatives. Occasional out-of-state travel and work outside normal business hours may be required.
