Overview

Job Summary

Provides general operational support of business transactions and workflow for clinical departments. Interacts both effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. May be responsible for any non-clinical aspect of patient processing in clinical service areas including general clerical support, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, medical records management, cash collection, charge entry, inventory and supplies requisition, and clinical support as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Provides general clerical support for departmental operations.
Schedules patients according to departmental procedures.
Verifies patient benefits.
Manages departmental records.
Performs assigned cash collection.
Performs timely and accurate charge entry.
Enters departmental inventory/supplies requisition.
Maintains skills and knowledge through training and continuing education.
Completes assigned goals.

Previous experience in outpatient clinical office setting.

Education

Minimum Required

Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.

Associates degree or certificate from an accredited business school.
