Full Job Description

Company Description:

DCE Solar is a privately-owned engineering, development, design and manufacturer of industry-leading solar project foundations and racking solutions, as well as providing installation services to the commercial and utility scale solar projects. We are looking for an ambitious and energetic individual to support our business.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary General Accountant to support the Accounting team by providing transactional input of supplier invoices, tracking daily logs and preparing Excel schedules tackling the multiple ongoing projects. This position is primarily a data entry and project tracking role. Responsible for ensuring invoices are received, routed for approval, input into the accounting system, and tracked through project lifecycle. The role also involves maintaining project spend records, monitoring invoice status, and updating project tracking spreadsheets in Excel.

This is a temporary position to support several key projects. The duration of the assignment may vary based on project timelines and business needs.

General Accountant responsibilities

Receive, monitor and track invoices for multiple ongoing projects.
Ensure invoices are routed for appropriate approvals and follow up on outstanding approvals.
Verify invoice details for accuracy and completeness before processing.
Track daily work logs and reconcile to supplier invoices
Enter approved invoices into the accounting system in a timely manner.
Maintain project invoice trackers and status reports using Excel.
Track project expenditures against budgets and provide updates as requested.
Reconcile invoice records between project tracking files and accounting records.
Strong utilization and ability with software (Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Microsoft Accounting software - Business Central)
Additionally, other responsibilities as assigned

General Accountant skills

Self-directed and motivated personality with a willingness to accept and own multiple tasks
Cognitively understands the impact of project accounting and the accounting matching principle
Systems experience; high level of Excel proficiency required and the entire Microsoft Office
Accounting software Microsoft Business Central a benefit.
2+ years of accounting, accounts payable, project accounting, or administrative support experience.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and follow-up skills.
