Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Manager

Location: Corona, California

Department: Operations / Supply Chain

Reports To: CEO

This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in scaling the company's supply chain, improving profitability, and supporting rapid growth in advanced electronics manufacturing

Position Summary

Adura is seeking a highly motivated and technically capable Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Manager to lead component sourcing, customer quotations, supplier negotiations, and supply chain strategy for our growing U.S.-based electronics manufacturing operation. This role bridges engineering, purchasing, operations, and sales to ensure competitive quotations, secure component availability, optimize costs, and build a resilient supply chain. The ideal candidate has strong experience sourcing semiconductors and electronic components for PCB assemblies and thrives in a fast paced prototype-to-production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing

Source semiconductors, passive components, connectors, electromechanical components, PCBs, metals, and custom parts.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, lead time, and supply continuity.
Identify alternate manufacturers and second-source components to mitigate supply chain risk.
Build strategic relationships with authorized distributors, manufacturers, and contract suppliers.
Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, tariffs, and supply chain disruptions.

Customer Quoting & Cost Estimating

Prepare accurate BOM cost estimates for prototype and production opportunities.
Analyze customer BOMs and drawings for cost reduction opportunities.
Work closely with Engineering and Sales to recommend alternate components and design improvements.
Develop labor, material, overhead, and manufacturing cost models.
Support rapid quotation turnaround while maintaining high accuracy.

Supplier Management

Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, payment terms, lead times, inventory programs, and long term agreements.
Conduct supplier performance reviews covering quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost.
Develop preferred supplier relationships and strategic sourcing partnerships.
Resolve supplier quality and delivery issues with cross-functional teams.

Supply Chain Management

Manage procurement strategy to support production schedules and customer demand.
Optimize inventory through Kanban, safety stock, vendor-managed inventory (VMI), and forecast planning.
Collaborate with Production Planning to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
Improve supply chain resilience through dual sourcing and risk mitigation initiatives.
Support ERP implementation and continuous process improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Sales during customer RFQs and new product introductions.
Work with Engineering on DFM, component lifecycle management, and design optimization.
Support Operations with material planning and production scheduling.
Assist Finance with cost forecasting and inventory management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
5+ years of sourcing or supply chain experience within EMS, PCB assembly, or electronics manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of semiconductor and electronic component markets.
Experience sourcing through authorized distributors including DigiKey, Mouser, Arrow, Avnet, Future Electronics, TTI, and direct OEM relationships.
Experience with BOM costing and customer quotation processes.
Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred).
Ability to manage multiple RFQs and sourcing activities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting medical, aerospace & defense, industrial, or critical infrastructure customers.
Familiarity with ISO 13485, AS9100, and IPC standards.
Knowledge of tariff management, global sourcing, and international logistics.
Experience with long-lead semiconductors, allocation management, and lifecycle planning.
Understanding of PCB fabrication and PCB assembly manufacturing processes.
