Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Director of Project Management leads the organization’s project management strategy, governance framework, and execution excellence. This role oversees the Project Management Department, ensures alignment of strategic initiatives with business objectives, and drives successful delivery of projects. The Director establishes standard operating procedures, policies, and performance metrics to ensure customer satisfaction, project completion, mitigate risk, and maximize return on investment.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

· Develop and implement project management strategy aligned with organizational goals.

· Lead and evolve the Project Management Department structure, governance, and maturity.

· Partner with executive leadership to prioritize and align project portfolios with corporate strategy.

· Drive continuous improvement in project delivery performance.

Project & Portfolio Oversight

· Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and within budget.

· Monitor portfolio health and manage risks, dependencies, and escalations.

· Standardize reporting and provide executive-level updates.

· Implement tools and systems to enhance project visibility and accountability.

Process & Governance

· Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Project Management Department, including:

o Project intake

o Prioritization

o Team Assignment

· Implement reporting dashboards and executive-level communication processes.

· Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Financial & Resource Management

· Develop and oversee project budgets and financial forecasting.

· Optimize resource capacity planning across departments.

· Drive cost control measures and ensure financial accountability.

Stakeholder Management

· Provide regular updates to executive leadership and board stakeholders.

· Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to senior stakeholders.

· Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across departments

Team Leadership & Development

· Lead, mentor, and develop Leads.

· Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

· Conduct performance reviews and workforce planning initiatives.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in business management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

· 10+ years of progressive project/program management experience.

· 5+ years in a senior leadership or Project Management leadership role.

· Strong financial acumen and experience managing multimillion-dollar projects

· Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

· Project Management Professional (PMP) – Project Management Institute
