Full Job Description

Company Overview

Overview:

We are seeking highly motivated and energetic Pastry Cooks for our San Diego location. Both full-time and part-time positions are available in our fast-paced, high-end environment.

Key responsibilities:

Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and breads according to recipes and standards
Design and decorate desserts to ensure a high-quality, appealing presentation
Assist with dessert assembly and plating for service
Follow instructions from the Executive Chef and other senior kitchen staff
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and kitchen
Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed
Help with inventory, stocking, and ordering supplies as directed
Participate in the development of new recipes and menu items as needed

Requirements:

Must have 1+ years of experience working in a high volume and upscale establishment.
Maintain composure while multi-tasking in a high-stress environment. must be punctual, communicate effectively
Previous experience as a pastry cook, baker, or similar role preferred
Basic understanding of pastry techniques and baking methods
Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely
Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently in a team
Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays if required
Follow all health and safety standards and guidelines

Physical Requirements:

Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (8+ hours)
Ability to walk up and down stairs, kneel and squat
Able to carry up to ~50lbs
Able to push/pull/open doors
Able to bend and lean down
Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment
