Childcare Office Assistant

Full-Time Corpus Christi, TX

General Position Description

De Colores Child Development Center, LLC is looking for a reliable Childcare Office Assistant.

This person will undertake administrative tasks, ensuring the management staff has adequate

support to work efficiently within the childcare program. The role includes assisting the childcare

director and the teaching staff. The ideal candidate is competent in prioritizing and working from

instructions provided by management. They will be trainable, self-motivated, and trustworthy,

helping ensure the smooth running of our office and contributing to sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance with

company policies.

Manage phone calls and correspondence (email, letters, packages, etc.).
Create and update records and databases for parents and children attending the center.
Track office supply needs and place orders when necessary.
Communicate with parents concerning the needs and daily events of their child or children.
Assist colleagues in classrooms whenever necessary (restroom breaks, copying and

laminating work for teaching staff, etc.).

Manage prospective clients, provide information, and conduct tours for future enrollments.
Maintain a caring and compassionate attitude when interacting with and caring for children.
Use strong verbal communication and listening skills to converse with children, fellow

caregivers, and parents or guardians.

Demonstrate patience and stamina to keep up with the demands of children of all ages.
Apply advanced multitasking and organizational skills to handle multiple children at a time.
Prepare meals and assist with kitchen duties and food program duties.

Requirements

Proven experience as an office administrator or assistant in the childcare industry or a

relevant role.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Familiarity with childcare office management procedures.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, the office management software Brightwheel, and the

Food Program.

Qualifications in secretarial studies are an advantage.
High school diploma required; a BS/BA in office administration or a relevant field is

preferred but not required.

Valid CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire).

Schedule

8-hour shift; must be available 7:00 AM–6:00 PM
Monday to Friday (day, after-school, and evening shifts)
No nights and no weekends
